Taylor
Taylor Swift may be the most rare of all pop artists: one capable of successfully cross the divide between pop and country, conquering the globe. Swift left country music like it was a second layer of herself, proving that she is perhaps the smartest pop-singer/songwriter her generation. Someone who is able to harness the zeitgeist to make it personal, and be able to perform at the opposite. It was apparent in her early songs, particularly on the neo tribute of Tim McGraw. On her 2nd album, Fearless (2008), Swift showed a songwriter getting to know her. Fearless wound up having considerable reach not just on the U.S. where it racked up six platinum singles due to the Top Ten hits Love Story and the hit single You Belong with Me but throughout the world performing particularly well within Canada, the U.K. Canada and Australia. Swift managed to build upon her popularity through Speak Now almost two year following. She grew in popularity through her subsequent three albums: Red (2012) 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017). Swift became a household name within the genre she was a part of. While she reduced her production with folklore, and Evermore albums in the year 2020, she was leading the way in pop music.
