Sheryl Underwood is an American comedian and television host best known as the presenter for The Talk, a popular talk show that airs on daytime TV. She was born and lived within Little Rock. Sheryl was raised in a difficult family. She spent most of her young life caring for her younger sister Frankie who suffered from an illness called polio. She had a lot of issues with her mother when growing up. Sheryl claimed that in one instance, her mother had stabbed the father of her child because she had been a little too close to her. After her graduation from college, Sheryl became a military officer. She was interested in comedy. In 1989 she was the first woman to make the finals in the Miller Lite Comedy Search contest. She began her TV career when she was regularly performing at The HBO Comedy Show Def Comedy Jam in 1992. She was a TV host for the 2000 season of Oh Drama! Since 2011, she has been a cohost of the talk show. In addition, she has played a fictional character in programs like Bulworth Nicki as well as Beauty Shop.
