Lucy Liu, an American voice actress producer director and singer is also a talented actor. Beautiful, intelligent and gifted actor, she's an inspiration to Asian actors who want to make it big in Hollywood. Following a string of early performances in popular shows she achieved fame by joining the team of the legal comedy show Ally McBeal where she played the villainous Ling Woo. Her sudden fame translated into films roles like Shanghai Noon or Charlie's Angels. Her performance was outstanding in the role of Japanese O-Ren, a gangster from Japan (Quentin Tarantino) in Kill Bill Volume 1 by Quentin Tarantino. During this time, she played the lead in a few flops at the box office like Rise: Blood Hunter. After that, she started to voice prominent characters in animation films such as Kung Fu Panda. Mia Mason, in Cashmere Mafia as well as other smaller-screen parts, did not achieve much success. Southland's critically-acclaimed police drama, Southland and a recurring performance helped Liu to reestablish herself her status as a well-known actress. Liu selects her roles carefully to ensure she is not a victim of this competitive industry. While she's very proud of her ethnicity, she does not let that limit her creativity.
