April Ross
April Ross is one of the few female beach volleyball stars to capture medals at more than one Olympics. Alix Klineman, playing for the first time at Tokyo's Olympic Games, will try to earn her third Olympic medal. Ross also hopes to get her first Olympic gold. The next time she has the chance at age 39. She's certain that the top prizes are within reach. Ross stated via NBC Boston: "If we do our best and even playing well I believe we can be able to win gold." Also, I am going be relying on a little bit of luck. Ross, who was born 1982, and grew up within Costa Mesa California with her sister and parents, began participating in sports at the Newport Harbor High School. Ross competed in many activities while at Newport Harbor High School. The prep sports she played included indoor volleyball along with basketball, running and track. She was definitely superior to the rest in the latter sport. During her high school career she played middle blocker outside setter and hitter on the volleyball court per her bio at the college. As a tribute to her efforts she was awarded the Gatorade Award for National Player in 1999. Additionally, in 2000, she was recognized as the Orange County Athlete of the Year for volleyball. Ross is playing with Klineman since 2017. However, Ross's beach game was established well before the year. It's true that she's had numerous big wins as well as one of her partners was an all-star volleyball player. From 2007 until 2013 she was in a partnership with Jennifer Kessy, who is the coach she is currently. Kessy and Ross were a formidable force in the world circuit, winning a 2009 world title as a team. The 2012 Olympic Games, they received a gold medal. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings, the team of legends which took home the Olympic gold medal in 2012 in London, took their opponents to claim the gold medal. Ross Walsh was Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's departure. They both won bronze in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics in 2016. Following high school, and for a few several years prior to hitting the sand as a pro Ross played for the USC Trojans as an NCAA. And her run in the Trojans' ranks was an impressive one. Her freshman year in 2000 saw her earn the Pac-10 and NCAA Freshman's of Award and also be named an All-American. In addition, she helped her Trojans get to the Final Four. She suffered a devastating personal loss in her sophomore year, but she still repeated as an All-American. The last two years with the Trojans' program, she led them to victories by winning consecutive national championships. In her own way Ross established her status in the history books by winning the Honda Sports Award for 2003-04. This prize was awarded to the most outstanding female volleyball players at colleges across the United States. Ross was an USC international relations student was a star in volleyball. Margie Ross didn't get to witness Ross achieve beach volleyball's top levels. Ross lost her mom to cancer of the breast in 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. But she still keeps her parents close to her the heart. And Margie continues to be an inspiration to her on the beach as well as in everyday her daily life.
